National Science Foundation three-year continuing grant for $1.485 million anticipated total funding, beginning    July 1, 1999.  Supplementary grant for $13,500 for 2001summer fellowships at Fermi National Laboratory.

What is the UIC-CC CETP?
The NSF funded UIC–Community College Collaborative for Excellence in Teacher Preparation is a collaboration among six community colleges and UIC to advance the preparation of future teachers in the teaching of mathematics and science, and to increase the number of students in the collaborating institutions who choose careers in teaching.

The multi-faceted program includes:

In pursuing these activities, the Collaborative will strengthen bonds among the collaborating institutions and work cooperatively to address articulation issues effecting students preparing for teaching.

The three-year NSF grant to fund the UIC–CC CETP officially began in July, 1999.
