The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science at UIC expects openings at full and/or part-time Lecturer positions available Fall 2024. Each position is responsible for teaching general mathematics, computer programming, statistics, and/or mathematics education courses, advising and assisting students, and supervising teaching assistants, as needed.
Qualifications include experience teaching mathematics, computer programming, statistics, and/or mathematics education at the university or college level, and a Master’s Degree or doctoral degree in mathematics or a related discipline. Applicants should be qualified to teach a range of undergraduate courses in math, statistics, computer science, and/or mathematics education.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with and/or a commitment to innovative student-centered teaching methods, such as active learning.
These appointments would be for a single semester or entire academic year, ranging from 33% to 100%. The standard teaching load for a 100% appointment is 6 courses per year (3 per semester). These are faculty appointments but not tenure-track. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and final authorization of the positions is subject to the availability of funding.
