Faculty Positions
The Department has active research programs in centrally important areas of pure mathematics, computational and applied mathematics, combinatorics, computer science, statistics, and mathematics education.
Applications are invited for the following positions, effective August 16, 2008, subject to budgetary approval:
- Multiple Assistant Professor positions
- Lecturer
Staff Positions
The Department does not currently have any staff (Academic Professional and/or Civil Service) openings at the moment.
Assistant Professor
Candidates in all areas of interest to the Department will be considered. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, mathematics education or a related field, an outstanding research record, and evidence of strong teaching ability. The salary is negotiable.

Lecturer
The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science, UIC expects openings at full and/or part-time lecturer positions available Fall 2008. Each position is responsible for teaching general mathematics courses, advising and assisting students, and supervising teaching assistants, as needed. Qualifications include experience teaching mathematics at the University or College level, and a Masters Degree in mathematics or a related discipline. Applicants should be qualified to teach a range of undergraduate math courses. These appointments would be for a single semester or entire academic year, ranging from 33% to 100%; they are not tenure-track appointments. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
