Graduation
You must electronically file an "intent to graduate" by the posted deadline for the term you intend to graduate (see below). One commencement ceremony is held during the month of May each year for students meeting the graduation requirements during the preceding Spring, Fall, or Summer terms. Students from MSCS will attend the ceremony held in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
To file an Intent to Graduate, log into the University portal at my.uic.edu. In the "Academics" tab of the student part of the portal go to the "Records" sub-tab. Follow the links to Declare your Intent to Graduate. More detailed information is available from the Graduate College website.
Filing Deadlines for Thesis, and Graduation:
Spring 2012:
File an Intent to Graduate by January 27Submit Defended/Approved Thesis to Grad College by March 16
Summer 2012:
File an Intent to Graduate by June 22Submit Defended/Approved Thesis to Grad College by July 20
