MST - Elementary Education option
The MS degree in the Teaching of Mathematics (MST), Elementary Education option, is available for elementary teachers who currently hold a State of Illinois teaching certificate. Courses are offered in the late afternoon and early evening. Some courses are offered during the summer. This degree helps teachers broaden their understanding of learning and teaching mathematics in grades K-8. The MST program does not lead into the department's doctoral (PhD or DA) programs.
The student must fulfill the Graduate College requirements specified in the
Graduate College catalog as well as departmental requirements detailed in the
MSCS Graduate Handbook
