Exam Conflicts
If you are registered in PHYS 142, or another course that is listed
after MATH 210 in the timetable, you may take the make-up exam on
Friday, December 12, 2008 from 8:00-10:00 AM in the following
rooms:
- LC E1 (Instructors: Dumas, Kobotis, Klaff, Tao, Whyte)
- LC F3 (Instructors: Petrovic, Cabrera, Slodkowski, Kashcheyeva, Knessl)
If you have conflicts with both the 1-3 PM Thursday exam and the
8-10 AM Friday exam, please e-mail Charles Knessl
( knessl@uic.edu )
before Monday, December 8, 2008.
Rules for resolving exam conflicts
- A student may take an alternate exam
only
if the scheduled time for another final exam is the same as that
for the Math 210 exam AND the other course is listed BEFORE Math 210
in the timetable:
***
Note: MATH 210 is listed before PHYS 142 in the timetable.
Therefore, PHYS 142 has precedence. ***
-
Having several exams in one day is NOT a conflict and does not entitle
a student to take the final exam at the alternate time.
-
Students with conflicts must email Charles Knessl
( knessl@uic.edu )
before Monday, December 8 to
arrange for the make-up exam.
- Note carefully that you are expected to be on
campus and available to take exams until the very end of the semester.
Do NOT make any travel plans, or other plans to be
away until you are sure that you will be available for all your exams.
General Information about the Final Exam
-
Drop-in help is available at the
Math Sciences Learning Center
- The exam is a common final for all sections of Math 210.
- The exam covers the material of the entire semester.
- Calculators may NOT be used on the final. (The exam will be
written so that calculators are not needed).
- Incompletes will only be approved if you have been making
satisfactory progress in the course and are unable to
complete the work for the course because of illness or some other
compelling reason. The expectation of a poor
grade is NOT sufficient justification.
