The Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science Department offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, Mathematical Computer Science, Mathematics Teaching, and Statistics and Operations Research. These programs have a mathematical core, are multidisciplinary in scope, and provide our students with a wide variety of career opportunities upon graduation. Our graduates pursue careers in business, industry or government, and some continue with graduate work in MSCS and other related fields.
Tips on Applying to Graduate School
If you are a junior or a senior considering continuing your education to obtain a Masters or Doctorate Degree, or if you are a new MSCS major curious about careers in Mathematics, Statistics and related fields, then we have a new must-read resource for you. Check out MSCS Careers page, along with our new Preparing for Graduate School & Careers in Mathematics brochures.
How to Succeed in your Classes
We have prepared a short set of suggestions for helping you do your best in your MSCS classes. This is especially useful for new students, making the transition to the university. But the comments are based on our experiences talking with and advising students, and what many of us did when we were undergraduates, struggling with classes and trying to get "that grade". Check it out. Download and print the pamphlet "How To Succeed in your Classes".
