Undergraduate Minors in MSCS
The MSCS Department offers minors in Mathematics and Mathematical Computer Science. Following are the minor requirements for students with a major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Students in the College of Engineering electing a Mathematics or MCS minor should consult the MSCS Minor Requirements for Engineering Majors.
Minor in Mathematical Computer Science
For the minor, choose 19 to 21 semester hours. Students from other disciplines who want to minor in Mathematics and Computer Science must complete the following:
| Math 180; MCS 260, 261, 275 | 16 hours |
| One course chosen from Math 181 or any 300-400 level MCS course | 3-5 hours |
| Total | 21 hours |
Important Information for Engineering Students
Students majoring in Computer Science may not minor in MCS due to duplication of courses and/or content.
Other Engineering majors who wish to minor in MCS should follow the course requirements as listed in the Undergraduate Catalog: MATH 180, MCS 260, 261, 275 Plus MATH 181 or any 300 or 400 level MCS course.
