The Teachers in the College Preparatory Mathematics Program
of The University of Illinois at Chicago

In six years, the College Preparatory Math Program (CPMP)
has shown remarkable results in high school classrooms around Chicago.

In our workshops and courses, the teachers involved in CPMP study
how to teach mathematics through cooperative learning.

They learn techniques for cooperative learning by experiencing it themselves,
and share interactive mathematics activities that they can use in their classrooms.

Now, what is this huddle all about?

It's a human knot! By the time they untangle this topological problem,
these teachers will be comfortable with each other.

Two CPMP teachers show off the bulletin board
filled with work done by their pre-freshman students.

Three high schools in Chicago (Lake View, Young and Foreman) are using the
innovative, problem-centered curriculum, Interactive Mathematics Program (IMP).

We are very proud of all that our teachers are accomplishing.
