
This is a remnant of a supernova - a star that died by blowing up and creating a very spectacular "new star" in the sky. (You are also the remnant of a supernova. Heavier chemical elements, such as the iron in your blood could only be made in a supernova. You are the stuff of stars.)
You should be able to see the "chaotic web of bright filaments" and the "blueish diffuse background of highly polarized synchrotron radiation" with the proper filters. Which work best for each?
