Off-loading is the process of taking oil out of the field tank and putting it into trucks.
On-loading is putting oil into the field tanks.
1. Check fire extinguisher, oil spill kit, walkie-talkie, chewing tobacco soda can
2. Lock gate to area and put up "Closed due to Fueling" sign
3. Walk around and visually inspect tank and area
4. Inspect truck and its gear
5. Go to the bathroom now, so you won't have to go in the middle of the whole thing.
6. Make sure no one is smoking within 200 feet. You could get cancer.
7. Record weather data
8. Make sure no one from OSHA or EPA is watching you
9. Check all safety equipment again
10. Open relief (top) valve, put lock into fitting
11. Hook up hose to outlet (bottom) valve
12. Continually check level of oil in both tank and truck
13. When ready to stop, shut down outlet valve
14. Unlock relief valve.
15. Shut relief valve
16. Record all information in appropriate logs
17. Argue over who should be most valuable player in whatever sport is playing at this time.
