MER Promotes and Supports:
mathematicians' involvement in mathematics education reform at the K–12, undergraduate, and graduate levels
networking among mathematicians with a sustained commitment to mathematics education
informed discussion in the mathematics community of educational issues
thoughtful responses to changing educational conditions, and the promotion of exemplary programs
recognition of the importance of mathematicians' efforts in education reform to the well being of the mathematics community

The AMS-MAA-MER Special Session on Mathematics and Education Reform
is organized around three themes:
Building and Sustaining Communities of Mathematicians and Teachers

Sustaining Engagement of Mathematicians in the Mathematical Education of Teachers
Calculus Instruction: Addressing a Variety of Populations.

Excellence in Undergraduate Mathematics: Confronting Diverse Student Interests

A joint project of AMS and the MER Forum, funded by NSF, aims at helping mathematics and mathematical sciences departments strengthen their undergraduate programs, especially targeting the courses below calculus, upper level undergraduate courses, and courses for preservice K-12 teachers.

A directory of over 100 master's degrees from mathematics departments that offer programs for training mathematics students for specific professions, including finance, industry, actuary, and teaching.
