• Geometric analysis

Brief Background:

I completed my undergraduate studies in mathematics at Beijing University in 1987 and did my graduate studies, also in mathematics, at Harvard University. I got my PhD degree in 1995, under the guidance of Prof. S.-T. Yau. I then spent a year as a postdoc in Europe (IHES in France and Ruhr University in Germany) and four years as a Ritt assistant professor at Columbia University, before joining UIC in 2000. My research interests, described in more detail below, are in the broad field of differential geometry.
