The homotopy limit problem: a few motivic examples
Abstract: Thomason's homotopy limit problem is to measure the difference between fixed points and homotopy fixed points. Although simply stated, it encompasses a range of prominent examples: the Atiyah-Segal completion theorem, Segal's conjecture, Lichtenbaum-Quillen conjectures. I'll discuss a few examples, recast in the stable motivic homotopy category, highlighting the use of equivariant motivic homotopy theory.
