Introduction to the Hennings-Kauffman-Radford Invariant
Abstract: This will be the first of two talks about the Hennings-Kauffman-Radford (HKR) invariant and the Kuperberg
invariant of three-manifolds. These talks will precede the Februrary 8 talk by Shawn Cui, who will prove a
conjectured relationship between the two invariants. The HKR invariant is defined via Hopf algebras using surgery
on framed links. The Kuperberg invariant is defined via Hopf algebras using a Heegaard decomposition of the
three manifold. See
