The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Symmetry in Mathematics
Abstract: The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is proud to honor the scholarly achievements of Professor Alexander Furman, the College’s newest Distinguished Professor, at an awarding ceremony and lecture on Friday, October 12, 2018 in the Cardinal Room, Student Center East (SCE) 750 South Halsted Street.
The event will begin at 3:00pm with Professor Furman being awarded his Distinguished Professor honor and followed by his inaugural Distinguished Professor lecture. A reception in his honor will begin around 4:00pm.
