Arriving at O'Hare Airport (ORD):
Taxi fare from O'Hare to UIC is about $38 in light traffic, and can be much more during a heavy rush hour.
O'Hare Airport is a terminal for the CTA Blue Line, which runs southeast from O'Hare to downtown Chicago and then turns west and stops at UIC. The stop is named "Halsted-UIC".
Arriving at Midway Airport (MDW):
Taxi fare from Midway airport to UIC is about $30, and can be much more if traffic is heavy.
Midway Airport is a terminal for the CTA Orange Line. Take the Orange line to the Roosevelt Road station, and then transfer to a westbound bus #12 or #18. Both bus lines stop at Roosevelt and Halsted (the southeast corner of campus, closest to the dorms). The #18 turns south at Halsted, but the #12 continues west to Roosevelt and Morgan (the southwest corner of campus, closest to SEO).
Arriving on Amtrak or Megabus:
Amtrak trains stop at Union Station, at the corner of Canal and Jackson streets. The Megabus stop is on the East side of Canal street about 300 ft south of Jackson. It is an easy walk to UIC if you are traveling light,or a short taxi ride. The #7 Harrison Avenue bus stops at Union Station and continues to the north entrance to campus on Harrison Avenue.
Arriving on Greyhound:
The Chicago Greyhound station is on Harrison Avenue, on the opposite side of the expressway from the UIC campus.
