The Graduate Student Geometry and Topology Conference (GSTGC) is a yearly meeting for graduate students in mathematics interested in geometry and topology. The goal of this event is to encourage emerging and established mathematicians to share and exchange active research ideas in their fields.
The 2018 GSTGC will take place April 7-8 at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
We are committed to academic freedom and keeping science open to all individuals. We encourage anyone interested in attending to apply, regardless of race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, pregnancy, immigration status, or any other aspect of identity. All participants at GSTGC 2018 will be treated with dignity and respect, and discrimination or harassment of any form will not be tolerated. (adapted from JGT)
Young faculty speakers:
Graduate students attending are also invited to give 25 minute talks, at the research or expository level, by indicating their intent in the registration form below.
We are still waiting for funding support from the NSF. Once that is confirmed, registration will open.
The schedule is forthcoming.
Chicago is served by two main airports at O'Hare and Midway, which are connected directly to UIC by the Blue and Orange CTA elevated train lines, the nearest stop being the UIC-Halsted stop. The UIC campus is conveniently located at the intersection of interstate highways I-94 and I-290, and driving and carpooling to Chicago is enouraged. Here is a map of the area around the campus, with food and drink spots marked.
Once NSF funding is confirmed, the conference will book double rooms for attendees at a hotel near campus, if they so indicate in the registration form.
Please send all questions and inquiries to the conference inbox: email@example.com.
