Welcome to the UIC Undergraduate Math Club for Spring 2016!

The Math Club meets each Wednesday at 4 PM in SEO 300 (the Math Commons Room). Anyone can drop by. Plus, pizza and refreshments will be served (subject to budget availability).

If you are interested in participating in student activities or giving a short (10- to 45-minute) math-related presentation, please speak with Jesse Lora or Sara Ali at any club meeting.

Congratulations to the new Math Club leadership for 2016-2017:

  • Jesse Lora, President
  • Sara Ali, Vice President
  • Shayne Azimi, Treasurer

Putnam Team Classes

The Putnam Team meets just before the Math Club on Wednesdays 3-4pm, in SEO 300.

Here is more information about the William Lowell Putnam Exam, the U.S. national mathematics contest.

The Putnam Team practices all year for this national competition, held in December. Anyone is welcome to come to practices. Try some Putnam problems!

Here is more information about the Illinois Section of the Mathematical Association of America (ISMAA) Spring 2016 math contest. This state math contest for undergraduates takes place on April 8-9. It's a nice stepping stone to the Putnam exam in December.
