Knotoids
Abstract: In his paper on Knotoids, Vladimir Turaev observes that we can consider knot diagrams that are based on the drawing of a curve in the 2-sphere with two arbitrary ends. It is not really necessary to have a closed underlying curve. By using "open" knot diagrams we have a new theory of knotted diagrams. This theory sometimes simplifies computations of knot invariants, and also it may give us finer estimation on Seifert genus of both classical and generalized knots including knotoids and virtual knots. During the talk, we first define knotoid diagrams and we show the moves on knotoid diagrams then we compare knots and knotoids.
