Hopf Algebras and Link Invariants
Abstract: This talk is an introduction to the relationships between Hopf algebras and topological invariants of knots and links.
The talk will be self-contained.
This relationship is the central theme of this seminar. We plan to begin
the Tuesday part of this seminar with an introduction to the
basics. Thus we shall go back and forth for a while, discussing knot
theory and discussing algebra. We invite anyone who is interested in
learning and/or participating in this beautiful interface between
disciplines to attend the seminars!
