The Maximum Likelihood Degree for a Random Effects Model
Abstract: The maximum likelihood degree (ML degree) of a statistical model is the number of complex solutions to the likelihood equations for generic data. ?We look at the analysis of variance model with random effects and give an explicit formula for the ML degree of this model.
