Syzygies of Curves
Abstract: We take up the subject of minimal free resolutions of section rings of algebraic curves. After introducing the basic definitions and examples, we prove Green's "2g+p+1" Theorem. This talk serves as a primer for the next three talks in the seminar 1) The gonality conjecture (Jiamin Li 9/23) 2) Green's conjecture for generic curves (Greg Taylor 9/30) 3) Stability of syzygy bundles on surfaces (Shijie Shang 10/7)
