Kodaira vanishing in positive characteristic
Abstract: Kodaira vanishing and its generalizations are powerful tools in birational geometry. Unfortunately, they fail in positive characteristic. In this talk, we construct counterexamples to the Kodaira vanishing theorem and, if time permits, discuss strategies for replacing vanishing theorems with Frobenius methods.
