Toric varieties and divisors on them
Abstract: This talk is a basic introduction of toric varieties. I will first talk about how every toric variety is associated with a combinatorial object called fan. Then, if time permits, I will use divisors as an example to show how algebro-geometric properties of toric varieties can be understood using the combinatorial data.
